The Future Food Research Centre (FFRC)’s research is focused on critical challenges in the future food space. Our research capacities include, but are not limited, to the following:

· Sustainable novel food ingredients including plant-based and indigenous ingredients with health benefits

· Disruptive technologies such as 3D printing, AI, sensors and bioprocessing

· Precision nutrition for specific needs and population health

· Food safety including chemical and microbiological safety, blockchain and big data

· Food by-product utilisation to develop value-added products

· Clean food processing

· Sustainable materials for food packaging

· Food sovereignty

· Consumer and sensory sciences

· Transdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research involving the above areas to ensure food sustainability
